Ricki Lake has filed for divorce from her second husband, Christian Evans, citing irreconcilable differences. According to court filings, the 46-year-old separated from Christian, 42, on 9 October and filed for divorce a week later.
The split appears to be amicable; TMZ reports that Ricki has offered to pay the jewellery designer spousal support. Earlier this week, Ricki seemed to allude to the split in a Twitter post. "One of the only good things about heartbreak… The lbs that are lost," she wrote. "This #shapeshifter has gone in the other direction. #thankful." Ricki and Christian started dating in the summer of 2010. They got engaged a year later, in August 2011, and eloped on 8 April 2012. At the time, she told Good Morning America, "Better late than never. He is my soul mate. I was ready for the right person to come into my life."
That same month, she said on her iVillage blog that Christian had "reinvented her excitement" in both life and love. "On my 42nd birthday, true love walked into my life and I am not letting it out," she wrote. "The kindest, most caring spirit was just around the corner, and I could have missed the love of a lifetime." Ricki also spoke of her love for Christian in an interview with People earlier this year. "I am totally in love," she said. "He is a nobody, but he's a somebody to me. He's everything to me." Ricki was previously married to artist Rob Sussman, from 1993 until 2003. They have two children together, sons Milo, 14, and Owen, 12.
