Angelina Jolie has revealed that marriage to her long-term partner Brad Pitt "does feel different", and that the humanitarian ambassador is "open" to stepping up her passion to a career in politics. The actress and director, who stars on Vanity Fair's December cover, told the magazine that "it feels nice to be husband and wife".

And she and Brad are enjoying life as a married couple in true Jolie-Pitt style – on a working honeymoon, as the duo work side-by-side on By The Sea, which Angelina is herself directing. The film is the newlyweds' first collaboration since the 2005 film that brought them together, Mr & Mrs Smith.

But Angelina, whose hugely successful acting career includes Oscar wins and a foray into directing, admitted that she could leave the film set in order to pursue a career in politics – if her Hollywood career didn't get in her way. "When you work as a humanitarian, you are conscious that politics have to be considered. Because if you really want to make an extreme change, then you have a responsibility," the Maleficent star said.

"But I honestly don't know in what role I would be more useful – I am conscious of what I do for a living, and that [could] make it less possible. "The mother-of-six, who is known for her extensive humanitarian efforts and as a prominent United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, then stated that she is "open" to the idea.
