James Jordan has come out in defence of his Strictly Come Dancing star wife Ola Jordan, after reports claimed that she "bullied" her celebrity dance partner Steve Backshall. According to MailOnline earlier this week, Steve lodged a complaint with the BBC, stating that Ola had showed a "rude and impatient" manner towards him in rehearsals and dented his confidence on the show. Reaching out to fans on Twitter, James backed his wife and insisted that there was no truth in the story. Ola's previous dance partners on the BBC series also echoed their sentiments of support.
Ola Jordan and James Jordan have been married for 11 years
"I will start by saying that @The_OlaJordan is very upset about the article. Even if it's not true, lots of people do believe what they read," wrote James. The ballroom star then sent a flurry of tweets, while also retweeting viewers who had showed their support. "I know I can be very outspoken, but always say it as it is. @The_OlaJordan is the opposite to me. Not a bad bone in her body!!!" he posted.
Ola Jordan has been partnered with Steve Backshall this year on Strictly
James, who used to be on Strictly but was not asked back on the show this year, added that he "guaranteed" Ola would not be featuring in the upcoming Strictly Live Tour. "They are also trying to get @SteveBackshall to dance with someone else on the 'Strictly Tour' so @The_OlaJordan can't do it. Shame," he wrote. After encouraging viewers to show their support for Ola using the hashtag "#Weloveolajordan", James retweeted several messages of kindness. "Wish I could RT all of you tweeps. @The_OlaJordan will see how much support she has and I know it will lift her spirits. THANK YOU ALL," he wrote.
While writer and TV presenter Steve has not publicly commented on the claims, Ola's celebrity dance partners from previous series leapt to her defence. Hollyoaks actor Ashley Taylor Dawson, who was paired with Ola last year, wrote: "I did 18 hour days, had about 5 hours sleep a night for 4 months... Oh and a new born baby!! @The_OlaJordan is not a bully!" Robbie Savage from 2011's series consoled the Polish beauty, tweeting, "@The_OlaJordan hope you get through tonight, great teacher and pleasure to work with! Good luck".
