Simon Cowell has shared an adorable video of his baby son Eric playing the drums. The little nine-month-old has clearly inherited his dad's passion for music and can be seen smiling as he bops away to the sound of One Direction's Story of My Life while trying to bang on his toy instrument. In the 15-second clip, Eric appears to be at a children's birthday party and can be seen kneeling up and watching other children running around. Dressed in a little blue and white jumper and matching blue trousers, he smiles for the camera as he listens to guests singing along to the music.
Proud dad Simon shared the video on his official Facebook page, writing, "One Direction have just hired Eric as their new drummer." Simon and his partner Lauren Silvermanwelcomed baby Eric on Valentine's Day this year, and the X Factor judge has spoken on a number of occasions about how fatherhood has changed him. He's also spoken candidly about the parenting responsibilities he's choosing to avoid – including nappy changes.
"I'm probably in a far better position to be a father now that I would have been ten years ago," the 55-year-old said in an exclusive interview with HELLO! last month.
"That's the way I look at it. "And at the end of the day we have really great nannies that are bloody amazing so I don't have to worry. "I'm going to be honest – I'm not exactly a hands-on dad. I want to fast-forward a few years so I can take him go-carting and then introduce him to women. There are a few years to go yet!"
