Beyoncé Knowles enjoyed a night off from her hectic schedule as she attended sister Solange's pre-wedding party on Friday night in New Orleans.
Although husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy did not accompany her, Beyoncé was beaming as she headed to the joyous family celebration.
Solange and fiancé Alan Ferguson, a video music director, are set to tie the knot on Sunday, kicking off the celebrations by inviting friends and family to the Indywood Cinema for a special film screening ahead of their big day.
The 28-year-old wowed in a bridal-inspired white dress which featured a plunging neckline and long flared sleeves, as she arrived hand in hand with Alan, 51, for the party. The bride-to-be accessorised her chic outfit with some gold strappy sandals, and a quirky birdcage-esque clutch bag, finishing off her ensemble with a bold statement red lip. Beyoncé also showed off her style credentials in a laidback yet elegant ensemble consisting of a black jumper and leather leggings, which she paired with a fluffy midnight blue coat, opting to go make-up free for the evening.
Guests were treated to a special screening of the 1975 Diana Ross classic Mahogany , a film particularly close to the couple's hearts. "It was pretty adorable," the cinema's owner Hayley Sampson told People. "They were talking about how they met and that they bonded (over) this film and then showed everybody the movie." "Solange is getting married to a wonderful man on Sunday and they rented out the theatre for a pre-wedding party," read a statement from the cinema. "It was beautiful, they were beautiful, Diana Ross is beautiful, love is beautiful."
Solange has previously opened up about their relationship, revealing that she was the one who initially did the chasing. "Certainly, in the beginning I was the one who approached him so I have always sort of historically been one of those girls that goes after something that I'm into," she admitted. "I'm not very old school and, like, I'm gonna wait on you. Wait for you to approach me type of situation."
