Kendall Jenner opens up on becoming a model and her friendship with Justin Bieber

November 17, 2014

Kendall Jenner's rise to the top of the fashion pack has been swift, with the 19-year-old recently named one of Time's most influential teens, and the model has now opened up on why she always wanted to walk the runway, and why the rumours surrounding Justin Bieber and herself are just that.

"I would always be looking at these supermodels who were so amazing to me, they were like superheroes," Kendall told Good Morning America.

"I want to be the best role model I can be to a little girl or to a little boy or to anybody."

The younger half-sister to Kim Kardashian also revealed that she doesn't enjoy suggestions that she hasn't earned her meteoric rise, adding: "In reality I worked hard for this. It's not like I just got it magically."

In 2014 alone Kendall has found herself walking for Marc Jacobs in New York, Givenchy at Paris Fashion Week, and was also chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to appear in the Chanel show alongside Cara Delevingne.

She has now been announced as the new face of Estee Lauder.

Her close friendship with pop star Justin Bieber has also caused problems for her, with a recent Instagram post by the Baby singer causing fans to think they were dating.

"He's a longtime friend of our family. Everybody loves to assume things, but no," Kendall succinctly said when asked of their budding romance.

She also spoke about banning her sisters from the shows that she walks in, revealing: "It was more of a mutual understanding.

"I think if my sister was sitting front row and my sister is who she is, I know it sounds kind of weird but it would've almost taken the attention away from what I'm trying to do on my own."
