Susanna Reid has said that while "feelings have been hurt", she and her former partner Dominic Cotton are trying to make the best of their split for the sake of their three sons. The TV star has revealed that the couple, who ended their 16 year relationship earlier this year, continue to live together, despite the fact that Dominic has a new girlfriend.
Susanna Reid still lives with ex-partner Dominic Cotton for the sake of their sons
"We still get on so well, Dom is such a hands-on dad and we really co-parent," Suzanna told The Sun's Fabulous magazine. "So we live separately but together and happily in the same house. I'm not saying that everyone can do it (and) I definitely think people are surprised that we can do it this way." She added, "Obviously we've been through a bit since splitting up, because a separation is always going to be sad. But it's nice for the children that they know Mum and Dad are still there. "I'm privileged to have a great relationship with my ex, to the point where we can still live together comfortably and he can have a new relationship."
Susanna Reid was a runner-up on the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing
Susanna and Dominic broke up in February following her successful appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. At the time, she was also spending a great deal of time travelling from London to Salford to present BBC Breakfast. The 43-year-old said it was impossible to blame her devotion to Strictly and her job totally for the split. "Over 16 years you're going to change a bit, both of you," she said. "We have a different relationship (now), which is good. There have been feelings hurt along the way, obviously, but Dom and I had a takeaway together last night, a good chat, and he's a great friend of mine. You don't throw away 16 years."
