The news that the 27-year-old tennis ace had finally popped the question to Kim, 26, caused a frenzy on social media and among his fans. The Wimbledon champion is said to have proposed one week ago, after having deliberated on the design of the ring for a long time. While Andy's representatives have confirmed the news but have given no further details, a source told The Mirror: "Kim said 'yes' immediately. They are completely besotted with each other and have been there for each other through thick and thin. "They are just going to enjoy themselves before they start planning their big day."

Andy, who has always remained coy about his long-term relationship and private life, made no hint of his recent engagement online, instead tweeting about his trip to the Philippines to play in the International Premier Tennis League. "Off to the Philippines for the first time today, should be a fun trip... Anyone got some suggestions for first time tourists in Manila?" he wrote, followed by, "The traffic in Manila is naughty." While the Scotsman and the artist met at the US Open in 2005, their romance did not become public knowledge until 2006, when Andy romantically ran to Kim's side to kiss her after he won his first senior title.
