Frankie Bridge on missing son Parker walking for the first time

November 29, 2014

Frankie Bridge, née Frankie Sandford, said she missed seeing her son Parker walking properly for the first time due to her Strictly Come Dancing commitments. The Saturdays singer told the Daily Mirror that her one-year-old
started to walk properly while she was away in Blackpool for Strictly's live show two weeks ago.

"He was kind of walking with help," said Frankie. "I said to Wayne [her footballer husband Wayne Bridge], 'I guarantee when we get back from Blackpool he'll be walking properly' [and he was]."

While the event was a milestone in Parker's life, 25-year-old Frankie says she doesn't mind too much that she missed it.

"That's cool," she said. "I was there when he took his very first steps so I'm OK with it. But he took it upon himself to do it properly when we were away."

Frankie is currently one of the hot favourites to win Strictly's 12th series. The singer, who is partnered with professional dancer Kevin Clifton on the show, has said she is loving the experience, despite the time away from home.

"Off to Elstree!" she tweeted on Saturday morning. "It's that time of the week again! Argh!! Jive most energetic dance in the world with the most energetic partner in the world!"
