Jake Quickenden may have entered I'm A Celebrity... stating that he was a single man, but his ex-girlfriend only found out that the couple were no longer together when he announced it on TV. The former X Factor contestant made the admission when he was about to enter the jungle in Australia. According to The Mirror, Jake, 26, had told his long-term girlfriend Victoria Skerrow that he needed a two-week break, to which she agreed to give him space. Shortly after, the brunette beauty was stunned to see Jake on national television, declaring that he was single and had completely parted ways with his ex a month ago.

While the singing hopeful added that he knew he had Victoria's full support and the pair had remained friends, a source close to the South Yorkshire resident, 24, said otherwise. "To say she was upset is an under-statement," Victoria's close pal said. "He may want to stay friends but I'm not sure she'll be able to after the way he so publicly dumped her." The couple started dating as teenagers, after Victoria had turned Jake down a few times for his reputation as a ladies' man. She remained at her boyfriend's side when he lost his 19-year-old brother to bone cancer – the same disease that took his father four years earlier.
Jake Quickenden stated that he was single on national TV, before heading to the jungle
Since his entrance into the I'm A Celebrity... jungle, Jake has been openly flirting with fellow campmates, models Kendra Wilkinson and Nadia Forde, and TV presenter Melanie Sykes. A source close to Jake said: "Going into the jungle with a girlfriend wasn't going to work for Jake. He wanted to be single so he was free to get up close and personal with some of the ladies out in Oz." His representative Gary Howard stated: "Jake will put his side of the story across when he leaves the jungle."
