Happy birthday, Britney Spears! As the hugely popular pop star celebrates turning 33, HELLO! Online takes a look at what the stars have in store for Britney, and you... This is what Britney, who is a Sagittarius, can be expecting today...

When people are reluctant to discuss 'an elephant in the room', we must wonder why. Might it simply be because if it were acknowledged, it would lead to questions like, how did that elephant get into the room in the first place? How did it pass through the door? And if it came in long ago, as a tiny baby elephant, and has been growing ever since, how can anyone ever hope to get it back out again? Or perhaps the room has a very large pair of French windows. The solution to a problem may not be as obtuse as you fear.

Britney Spears grew up in the spotlight, after starting out on The Mickey Mouse Club aged 11

One of the best-known figures in the music world, Britney Spears' career began with The Mickey Mouse Club at the age of 11, with co-stars including 'N Sync vocalist Justin TimberlakeRyan Gosling, and Christina Aguilera.

By 1999 the release of ...Baby One More Time had turned Britney into a household name across the globe and the album became the biggest selling album ever by a teenager.

The sky was the limit for the squeaky clean teenager-turned-sultry pop starlet. Britney released her first major motion picture, Crossroads, in 2002, and by the end of 2003 she had released a further three studio albums – all to critical acclaim – and opened her first restaurant.

During her early years as one of pop's biggest stars, Britney dated Justin for several years, but they split in 2012 and on January 3, 2004, Britney took the world by surprise when she married childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas. The singer later changed her mind and dismissed the wedding as a night of revelry that got out of control. The couple secured an annulment after only 55 hours. That trip down the aisle wasn't the only one for the singer in 2004. In September of that year, she wed Kevin Federlineone of her tour backup dancers, in a low-key California ceremony attended only by a select group of friends and loved-ones. Their son, Sean Preston, was born on September 14th, 2005, but hopes that her second marriage would stand the test of time were dashed when she filed for divorce in November 2006, two months after the birth of their second son Jayden James. She cited "irreconcilable differences" in legal papers.

Motherhood provided a natural career break for Britney, however her personal life hit a rocky patch in 2007. After less than 24 hours in a rehabilitation facility in Antigua in February, the troubled star shaved her head, before heading back to a different treatment centre in California. She remained there for almost a month but a spate of driving offences followed and after a less than slick comeback performance of Gimme More at MTV's Video Music Awards, the pressure proved too much for Britney. In early 2008 her father was granted temporary conservatorship of her assets white the singer sought medical help. However, the resilient pop singer bounced back.

She made a well-received cameo appearance on hit US comedy How I Met Your Mother – bringing the show its highest ratings ever – and began working on music again. In 2012 Britney joined the The X Factor in the US and in 2013 she released her eighth studio album, Britney Jean. That same year Britney announced to her millions of fans that she would be embarking on a two-year residency in Las Vegas, including 100 shows over the period. On Good Morning Britain in 2014, Britney revealed that the residency would be extended following its success. In recent months, Britney announced the end of her 17-month relationship with David Lucado, when she simply tweeted, "Ahhhh the single life", before sharing sweet snapshots on social media of her new boyfriend, TV producer Charlie Ebersol.
