Christoph Waltz has said that he is "bursting" with pride after being honoured with a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame. The actor was joined by his Django Unchained co-star Samuel L. Jackson and the film's director Quentin Tarantino at Monday's unveiling. Christoph, who has won Academy Awards for both Tarantino films he has featured in, looked over the moon to receive his prestigious accolade.

Christoph Waltz said he never would have dreamt of this award in his 'wildest dreams'

"My heart is not just a little bit throbbing with pride, it's bursting," said the Austrian as he delivered his acceptance speech. "This is something that I, as the guy from Vienna, never would have dreamt about in my wildest dreams." He added: "That really is the moment when you realise it's not put on, it's put in, and that is the difference. We could walk over it but it will be still there. Usually when you are walked over you are a little offended or injured but this is fixed in the ground and it is wonderful. "Once only in your life can it happen, if it happens at all. I don't need to pinch myself because I can come back and look at it."

Director Quentin, 51, also spoke praises of the actor he cast in Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds, saying: "There is a reality that 20 years ago a lot of things that have come to Christoph would have been unimaginable and that was how it was. "He was an actor in Germany doing very fine work, as there are actors in Mexico doing their thing for the Mexican film industry and actors in Italy doing theirs, and they never expect to be getting stars on the Walk of Fame or Oscars or even being invited to the Hollywood party."

Quentin added: "While he doesn't take any of these things that seriously – he is a very much "the play is the thing" kind of guy – this can't help but have his heart swell with pride and tickle his funnybone at the same time." Christoph was also joined at the event by his German costume designer wife Judith Holste.
