Nicole Kidman was overcome with emotion when her husband Keith Urban paid tribute to her in an acceptance speech. The country singer was attending the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was presented with said gong.

Supported by his actress wife on the night, Keith took to the podium to praise Nicole and the couple's two young daughters Sunday Rose and Faith. "I have an amazing crew who take such good care of me," said Keith, 47. "None other than the person who takes care of me the most and I love the most in the world – my wife, Nicole Mary. I'm so glad you're here tonight."

Keith Urban said his life had 'purpose' thanks to his wife Nicole Kidman

"It all makes sense because you're in the world, baby," he added. "Everything I do has purpose and meaning now like it never ever has before. I think these things aren't happening by coincidence. There's just real meaning in why I do what I do, and it's all from you and our girls. I'm so glad you're here." The Somewhere In My Car singer also took time to thank his fans for their support. "People go, 'Why is the audience so important?'" said Keith. "I go, 'Because without them, it's just one long sound check.' That's it. It's why we do what we do, so thank you very much."

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are parents to daughters Sunday Rose and Faith

After eight years of marriage, Keith and Nicole looked just as in love as ever, walking down the red carpet. The couple affectionately gazed at each other as the cameras snapped away, with Keith holding tightly on to his wife's hand. Aussie beauty Nicole, who has called her partner her "rock" in the past, wore a classic LBD that featured a chic sheer overlay and flaunted her long legs. The couple's night out came after the lovebirds packed on the PDA at Nicole's London premiere of her new film Paddington. Huddling together under umbrellas, Nicole, also 47, and Keith stole a kiss as they sheltered from the rain on the red carpet.
