Danniella Westbrook has opened up about her "year from hell" following the news that she is living in sheltered accommodation. The former EastEnders star, 41, was making her first televised appearance since her confession and went on This Morning to open up about her current situation. "I think that this year has been the worse year that I've ever had in my life, to lose one thing after another after another," she told show hosts Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden. Explaining how the local council helped her and her two teenage children Kai and Jody, Danniella said: "They got us in somewhere within two weeks, in sheltered accommodation which is like a bedsit, which is where we are now."

The star also opened up about how she has been relying on her friends for help, and that she receives "a small amount of money" from her daughter's father. "I've been really very lucky with friends of mine that supply me with a food delivery to the house to help us out," said Danniella. "And I have been to food banks this year because we haven't had any money. It's been very difficult. "Friends have pulled together and one of them has lent me a little car to drive so I can get the kids to school."
She added that at one point she thought her own car had been stolen, but later discovered it had been repossessed over missing payments. Danniella was forced to reveal her living situation on Twitter after one "friend" betrayed her and sold the actress' story to a magazine. "It's been a tuff year for me & it's with great regret I have 2 admit, I've lost my home and I'm living in sheltered housing waiting 2b housed," confessed Danniella online, before adding: "I have the love of my kids & a few good friends."

Speaking on TV, she said: "We have a good idea of exactly who it is because of what's being said, but at the end of the day they'll make their money and spend it wisely I'm sure – karma will come around. "It's pushed me really close to the edge in the last few weeks, that and people call up social services about my children to say they shouldn't be with me. That's pushed me close to the edge to think that if I lose my kids, it's not worth it. But as long as we're together, we'll get there." Despite her current situation, Danniella – who split from her husband of 12 years Kevin Jenkins earlier this year – said that she was looking forward to spending Christmas with her children and new boyfriend.
