Taylor Swift's year keeps getting better and better as it has been revealed that she has made the shortlist for Time magazine's Person of the Year award. The 24-year-old is joined by a diverse mix of nominees including Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc, the Ebola caregivers, and Russian president Vladimir Putin for the award, which will be announced on Wednesday. Previous winners include Pope Francis and Barack Obama. Taylor made the cover of the magazine in November, a feat she was clearly impressed by as she shared a picture of the cover on Instagram captioned: "It takes a while to actually comprehend something like this. It's one of my favourite covers and stories. A huge thank you to Time Magazine and to Jack Dickey for writing such an eloquently worded piece. PS WHAT IS LIFE RIGHT NOW."

The news marks the end of an incredible year for Taylor, who became the first solo artist to have three consecutive albums go platinum in their first week following the release of album 1989 in October. The singer, who celebrates her 25th birthday on Saturday, has also been named the 2014 Billboard Woman of the Year – making her the first artist to ever receive the honour twice. In addition she has been nominated for three Grammy awards in 2015.
Taylor took to Twitter to share her excitement for the Grammy nominations on Friday: "A song I wrote about shaking off things that don't matter just got nominated for 3 Grammys, including record and song of the year. GUYS" she wrote.
