Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly has revealed that Claudia Winkleman's daughter Matilda is recovering well after suffering a horrific accident at Halloween. The eight-year-old's Halloween costume caught fire while she was out trick-or-treating with her mum, leading Strictly co-host Claudia to miss the show for three weeks as she cared for her daughter.Speaking to The Mirror, Tess revealed that Matilda is "improving now hugely"."Our kids had a play day together last week and she is doing so well. They were running and playing hide and seek" she said.

"It is every parent's nightmare that your child is involved in an accident, but she is definitely on the road to recovery now and Claudia is feeling very happy and relieved. "Claudia missed her co-hosting duties with Tess for three weeks following the accident, but the 42-year-old received a standing ovation when she made an emotional return to the show at the end of November.The presenter and her husband Kris Thykier released a statement at the time of the accident.

"She is having the best care possible and we are hopefull of a full recovery."We would like to thank everyone that has been so supportive and particularly NHS doctors, nurses and staff who have been absolutely incredible. "Claudia and Tess have struck up a close friendship as they work together on Strictly Come Dancing, as Tess explained: "Claudia and I genuinely enjoy working together and we are good friends and so the chemistry is there."When you turn to someone on camera and you are smiling inside because you adore that person and it is a pleasure to work with them, I think it shows."
