Dustin Diamond, best known for playing Screech in 1990s TV show Saved by the Bell, was arrested in Wisconsin on Friday. The Californian actor was charged with stabbing a man during a fight at a bar on Christmas Day. The 37-year-old, who reportedly says he accidentally stabbed a man while trying to defend his 27-year-old fiancée Amanda Schutz, faces charges of endangering safety, disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon.

According to the criminal complaint, Dustin told police that on Christmas Day he was out with his fiancée in Port Washington, 30 miles north of Milwaukee, and the pair went to several bars. The couple reportedly got into a fight with two men and another woman at the Grand Avenue Saloon. At 11:55 pm Port Washington police responded to reports of a stabbing at the bar and later caught up with Dustin's SUV.

The complaint reports that while Dustin initially told police he had a pen in his hand, it was later discovered to be a switchblade covered in blood and he said he had accidentally stabbed the man. According to the Telegraph, Dustin appeared in Ozaukee County court on Friday, where bail was set at $10,000, and his next hearing is scheduled for 29 December.
