Mel B has finally spoken out to defend her husband of seven years, Stephen Belafonte, after the pair were surrounded by split rumours earlier this month. The X Factor judge finally put them to rest by addressing them on Sunday. "This is for my fans havin problems with my Twitter will be back soon! I'm very good was very polly but much better now and for the record my hubby never would lay a hand on me sorry took so long but any response fuels rumors #lovemyfamily #lovemyfans," the singer wrote alongside a picture of her and her husband.

Mel B, who had been inactive on social media since the X Factor final on 14 December, broke her silence on Boxing Day by posting a picture of the family taken on Christmas Day.The family snap featured Mel B, her American film producer husband and their three daughters. She wrote alongside the snap: "Have a merry Christmas! #familytime #funday".In the photograph, the foursome are gathered happily together on a sofa, with Mel B cuddling the couple's little one.

The united front followed rumours that Mel B had left her husband after The X Factor judge was rushed to hospital with stomach pains and missed The X Factor's live final. The 39-year-old returned to the show on Sunday 14 December, but sparked concern amongst fans over her appearance, with many commenting that she didn't look well. When host Dermot O' Leary asked if she was better, Mel said: "Yes – ish". Mel was not wearing her wedding ring when she returned to the show. According to reports, she later packed up her belongings and left the home the couple had been sharing in London after their arguing became too much to bear
