Despite splitting from fiancé Nick Loeb in May, Modern Family star Sofia Vergara is ending the year on a high note, very much in love with new boyfriend Joe Manganiello. The 42-year-old gave fans a glimpse of her happiness as she celebrated Joe's birthday with a tender message on Twitter. "Happy happy bday to my love and best friend," she wrote, alongside a sweet photo of the happy couple hugging and smiling. "To the one that makes me laugh like crazy!have a healthy wonderful year babe!!!@joemanganiello."
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have been dating since July
The couple first met in May at the White House Correspondents Dinner in May, but at the time Sofia was still engaged to Nick. "We had talked, I guess, or kinda bumped into each other but we didn’t start dating until she was single," Joe told E! News.
"She had a boyfriend at that time, so I probably could've gotten into a fight for doing that. I'm not trying to start a fight at the White House."
However, Sofia faced heartbreak later that month after she and Nick chose to end their relationship. The couple had been engaged since 2012.
"We have been having too many problems with having to figure out how to spend time together," said Sofia in a statement.
"And because of my work and now his, it's been getting worse and worse, not fun anymore."
"We are still very close," she added. "But we believe this is the best thing for us right now."
In July, it was revealed that Sofia and Joe had begun dating, and a month later, the loved-up actress opened up about their relationship. "I'm very happy romantically ," she told People magazine. "It couldn't be better!"
Since then, the couple have been spotted on numerous minibreaks and dates, but things seemed to get serious when Joe joined Sofia in Florida and met her family for the first time. It's been an exciting year for Sofia, and not just in regards to her personal life. Earlier this year she was revealed to be Hollywood's highest paid TV actress , according to Forbes magazine, having earned $37million in the past year. "I have a television show that has been successful for the past five years," she said. "It's allowed me to do all the things I've wanted to do with my career. It's been a lot of fun these past five years."
