Ashlee Simpson is set to officially change her name three months after she married Evan Ross. The couple, who are expecting their first child together, have filed a request to change their last names to Ross-Naess. Evan is the youngest son of Diana Ross and Arne Naess Jr, and legally shares his father's surname. Now as they prepare to welcome their new arrival it appears that Ashlee and Evan want to make sure they also share an official connection with the Supremes singer. A judge will have to sign off on their petition by the end of January, TMZ has reported.

It was revealed that Ashlee and her 26-year-old husband are expecting their first child together in December. The new arrival will join Ashlee's six-year-old son Bronx, from her first marriage to musician Pete Wentz. Evan hinted at the possibility of starting a family with his 30-year-old wife in November at The Hunger Games: Mockingjay premiere. "I would love to (have kids)," he told E! News. "As many as possible." The couple enjoyed a whirlwind romance after first going public as a couple in the summer of 2013. Evan popped the question in January during a romantic break in Hawaii.
