America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon has denied reports that he's planning to write an album about his split with wife Mariah Carey. The 34-year-old took to Twitter to slam the rumours, telling fans that he and Mariah are "forever a family rooted in love". Replying to a tweet from Vibe magazine which claimed he was going to "be taking a leaf out of Robin Thicke's book", Nick wrote: "Vibe, I rock with yall too tough to allow you to report false silliness. There is no album or songs! "I will never say anything negative about @MariahCarey. We are forever a family rooted in love."

The father-of-two went on to ask people to respect his family and say that he has no problem being perceived as the bad guy following the split from his wife.

A source confirmed that the singer was taking the lead in ending their relationship, telling E! News: "Mariah has started the divorce process. She's getting all her ducks in a row."
