With Jay Z and Beyoncé as her parents, there was no doubt that Blue Ivy Carter would celebrate her birthday in style. The youngster, who turned three on Wednesday, was treated to a Frozen themed party as she holidayed in Thailand with her superstar parents. Beyoncé shared a photo on Instagram of an ice sculpture in the shape of a snowflake etched with the words "Happy Birthday Blue", beside a large balloon shaped in the number three.

No doubt the sculpture pays homage to Disney movie Frozen, as little Blue is said to be a big fan of the animated hit. A source told Us Weekly that "Frozen is definitely her favourite movie", adding that Blue "always pretends to be Elsa". The well-travelled toddler has spent the last week exploring Cambodia and Thailand with her parents, and was pictured meeting a tiger in an Instagram snap which has since been deleted. Blue Ivy also received a special birthday message from her aunt Solange Knowles on Instagram, who described her niece as her "twin" in a touching message. "My twin, my fellow sassy pants, my dancing partner, my incredibly smart, beautiful, niece-y poo, turns 3 today! I love her so much" she wrote.

Beyoncé has previously spoken about her joy of becoming a mother, telling Oprah Winfrey that she felt "complete" after having her daughter. "My story did not feel complete and I didn't know why but… after I gave birth I looked at my diaries and everything made sense. "Everything just completely connected and I said now I know who I am… I wasn't complete before my daughter."
