Her smile said it all: Melissa McCarthy showed off the results of her reported 45lbs weight loss as she hit the red carpet this week, flaunting her figure in a sleek black outfit. The 44-year-old actress stepped out for the 2015 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday evening, where she drew admiring glances for her visibly slimmer frame. Melissa chose a fitted black suit jacket and tapered trousers for the event, which she teamed with heels and a black clutch bag, injecting a splash of colour with vibrant red lipstick.
The Bridesmaids star also picked up one of the night's biggest awards, beating competition from Drew Barrymore, Charlize Theron and newlywed Cameron Diaz to be named Favourite Comedic Movie Actress. Although Melissa has lost weight in recent months, she has spoken out about the importance of being comfortable in your own skin.

"I've never felt like I needed to change," the mum-of-two told People. "I've always thought, 'If you want somebody different, pick somebody else.'" It's an approach she hopes to instill in her daughters, Vivian, seven, and four-year-old Georgette. "I want my girls to know what's real, that how you should or shouldn't look – all of the 'shoulds' – it applies to no-one," she said. "It's not real. It's made up."
