Bill Clinton is one proud grandparent. The former US president became a granddad to baby Charlotte last September, and is fully embracing his new role. "It's really wonderful," the politician, 68, said during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "I love it. Like every other grandparent, I think my granddaughter's the greatest thing since sliced bread."

Bill also revealed that he and his wife Hillary Clinton regularly get to see baby Charlotte, as their daughter Chelsea and her investment banker husband Marc Mezvinsky live nearby. "So far my daughter has not had to discipline [Charlotte's] overly-exuberant grandparents too much," laughed Bill. "You know, these young people, they know what the rules are on child rearing," he joked. "It's very impressive."
Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton welcomed baby Charlotte with a photo on Twitter
Chelsea, 34, and Marc, 37, welcomed their first baby at the end of September, with the new mum reaching out on Twitter to share her exciting news with a photo. "At 7:03 PM on September 26th, we finally met Charlotte. We're in love," Chelsea captioned a heart-warming snap of the new family-of-three. In the image, the Clinton Foundation campaigner is seen cradling her newborn to her chest, unable to hide her complete and utter joy at becoming a first-time mother. Marc and Chelsea married in a lavish ceremony in July 2010. The couple had met as teenagers during a Democratic political retreat in 1993 but their friendship only blossomed into a relationship years later in 2005.
Shortly after Marc Mezvinsky and Chelsea Clinton's wedding, Hillary Clinton quipped she wanted grandchildren
After their marriage, Chelsea's mum Hillary made no secret of her longing to become a grandmother.
When the famous family were being interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel last year, the former US Secretary of State quipped: "I wouldn't mind one of those grandchildren I've been hearing so much about." Chelsea interjected that her mother had been "shameless" in putting pressure on her, "unapologetic in public and in private". Following her announcement that she was pregnant with her first child, Chelsea also touchingly said she hoped to "be as good a mum to my child, and hopefully children, as my mum was to me".
