Cristiano Ronaldo might have just won the Ballon d'Or for the second year in a row, but has he lost his model girlfriend Irina Shayk? Speculation is rife that the photogenic pair have sadly ended their four-year romance. Irina, 29, was noticeably absent for her boyfriend's big night in Zurich, and as he collected the prestigious trophy, Cristiano made no mention of the Russian beauty either – a marked difference from their loved-up appearance at the ceremony last year.
There was also no message of congratulations on social media from Irina to Cristiano, 29, on Twitter. Last week she posted pictures of herself soaking up the sun on a tropical beach. The fiercely-private couple have been dating for four years now, but are rarely pictured together. Nevertheless, they maintained a solid long-distance relationship, and just before Christmas the footballer shared a rare snap of himself relaxing with Irina and his son, also named Cristiano, and friends.
Speaking about the secret behind their romance, Irina previously described Cristiano as her biggest fan. "I'm enjoying my relationship. (Cristiano) is the perfect supporter and he is always by my side and he knows how to make me happy," the cover girl said. "I understand him perfectly well and he understands my job, which is something very important to me. "I love my profession and travelling, so I need my partner to understand what I'm doing and give me the strength and support to do it."
