Jennifer Aniston has revealed how she reacted the news she hadn't been nominated for an Oscar. Speaking shortly after the nominees were announced on Thursday, the former Friends star said that while she felt some disappointment she has been able to see other positives to award season. "I'd be lying if there wasn't a little ah," she told Access Hollywood. "But after that there's a lot of, 'but look at tonight, look at the Globes, look at the SAGs!'
"We're an embarrassment of wonderful riches [for] a movie that hasn't even been released and is teensy tiny," she added of her new film Cake. "This is all just cherries on top of something that was really special to us. So we're really excited." Jennifer added that while she missed out on a nomination, those who were chosen sent her their best wishes. "Reese [Witherspoon] sent me such a sweet email," she said. "As did Julianne [Moore]."
As award season gathers momentum, Jennifer also praised Angelina Jolie's new film, Unbroken.
"That movie is so beautiful and wonderful," she said during an appearance on Entertainment Tonight. "She did such a gorgeous job. Jennifer also opened up about the perceived rivalry between her and Angelina – who is now married to her ex-husband Brad Pitt. "I think that's slowly coming to an end," she said "I really do."
"It's just tiresome and old," she added when the idea of friction between the two women was mentioned. "It's like an old leather shoe. Let's buy a new pair of shiny shoes."
