One of Hollywood's most private couples was spotted out on the town recently. Four months after their daughter's birth, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling went out for some quality mum and dad time. The duo, who've been together since 2011, had tickets to a comedy show featuring funnyman Don Rickles.

For the outing Eva, who will be 41 in March, looked chic in a leopard skin-print dress, towering heels and one of her trademark turbans. Ryan was smart in a black suit.
Their little girl is called Esmeralda Amada. Esmeralda is the name of a characer in the Victor Hugo novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which they both love. Her second name meaning 'beloved' in Spanish is after her grandmother and her character in We Own the Night. Appearing on Ellen DeGeneres' talk show in December, the Cuban American star explained why she and Ryan were so secretive about her pregnancy, which she managed to keep a secret well into the second trimester.

Ellen good naturedly accused the actress of lying when she last appeared on the show. To which, Eva laughed and responded: "My mother didn't even know yet!"There were more laughs when Ellen told the audience they would be seeing the first photo of Esmeralda, only to show a composite of Ryan and Eva. For the moment the new parents are coping without a nanny, just relying on help from both their mothers. Proud mum Eva has said the sleepless nights make her tired but she "wouldn't have it any other way".
