Cristiano Ronaldo surprised a young football fan in Madrid on Thursday. The sporting superstar, who had disguised himself as a member of public, removed his wig and fake moustache to reveal his true identity to a lucky youngster. The stunned little boy was seemingly unable to speak as he embraced Cristiano to applause and cheers from those who were gathered in the square.
Cristiano then gave his wide-eyed fan a signed football and headed off amid the crowd of unsuspecting shoppers. "How impressive! Cristiano Ronaldo was disguised in the middle of Callao square in Madrid to surprise a child," wrote Spanish singer Juan Peña, who uploaded a video of the encounter on Instagram. The footage of Cristiano meeting the young boy comes a week after it was confirmed that he and his model girlfriend of five years Irina Shayk had gone their separate ways. Rumours that the pair had split reached fever pitch when 29-year-old Russian beauty Irina failed to attend the Ballon d'Or and see Cristiano crowned the best footballer of the year.
"We can confirm Irina Shayk has ended her relationship to Cristiano Ronaldo," the cover girl's representative told Page Six. While sources speculated that the pair had parted ways after Irina reportedly didn't show up to Cristiano's mother's 60th birthday party, her spokesperson went on to address rumours of a rift with the footballer's family. "She has been close with his family throughout the course of their relationship," they added. "Any negative rumours with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false, and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt. Irina has no further comment at the time."
