Kim Sears wears 'explicit content' top following outburst

February 1, 2015

Kim Sears has poked fun at the Twitter and media storm she caused earlier this week – when she was caught apparently swearing on camera during Andy Murray's semi-final match at the Australian Open.

Showing up at her fiancé's final against Novak Djokovic on Sunday, Kim playfully responded to her critics by wearing a top with the logo "Parental Advisory Explicit Content" emblazoned across her chest.

The artist, who regularly travels around the world to support her partner of ten years, is usually crowned for her chic courtside appearances, but at the Melbourne event, Kim had spectators talking about her cheeky – and first – reference to her outburst.

Much like when her name started trending on Twitter during the semi-finals, social media users once again took to the micro-blogging site, this time to praise Kim for her bold response.

"I see Kim Sears has already won the Aussie Open," joked one user, while another commented, "This is pure genius from Kim Sears!!!"

Cameras had focused in on Kim when the pretty blonde let out an expletive-ridden rant on Thursday, when Andy played against, and beat, Czech star Tomas Berdych.

The usually demure Kim is believed to have directed verbal abuse towards Tomas, causing viewers at home and in the stands to react with surprise and indignation.

Andy Murray defended Kim Sears: 'You can say stuff you regret'

While Kim has not publicly spoken about the incident, after the match Andy defended his fiancée by saying, "In the heat of the moment, you can say stuff that you regret."

The Scotsman said the atmosphere came down to the pre-match focus on his former coach, Dani Vallberdu, who is now working with his opponent Tomas. "When there's a lot of tension surrounding something, which you created, it's completely normal that the whole first set everyone was tight," said Andy. "Even Tomas, who very rarely says anything on the court… there was tension there for him as well."
