Bruce Jenner is transitioning to become a woman, his mother Esther Jenner has confirmed. The 88-year-old revealed that she had spoken to her son about his plans, and added that she has "never been more proud" of the former Olympian.
"I just learned about [his transition]. Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it," she told RadarOnline.
"I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instils enthusiasm in people. He's gifted.

"Right now I am more proud of him for what he’s allowing himself to do. I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect.”
His mother, who has previously appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, added that she will stand by her son. "I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have," she said. She revealed that Bruce has made the decision to speak out in the help of others going through the same issues as him.

The news comes after it was confirmed that Bruce plans to sit down with journalist Diane Sawyer to talk about his transition from male to female. Although the 65-year-old has not yet addressed reports surrounding his decision, it appears he is finally ready to speak about the new chapter of his life.
While the interview will not air until May, Bruce is said to be filming a portion of it in the next week, according to Page Six. The reality TV star is also said to be filming a new show specifically centred on himself and his transition. Bruce will continue to star in the upcoming tenth series of Keeping Up With The Kardashians where he will address his transformation.
