David Beckham has revealed how his oldest son Brooklyn will be spending his 16th birthday. The teenager plans on marking the milestone birthday with two special meals – one with his famous parents David and Victoria, and one with his pals.

Making an appearance on Good Morning Britain, David – who also told anecdotes about how he likes to embarrass his children – said: "I think [Brooklyn] wants to go for a dinner with his friends and he'll have a separate dinner with his family."

"He's at the age now when he doesn't want me to drop him outside the school and things like that, which I definitely do anyway!" said David.

The former England football captain went on to say that he does the school run in the mornings, which sometimes involves Brooklyn asking his dad to drop him off around the corner.

"I wasn't happy about it because I'd got up at seven in the morning to take him to school," said David. "So I dropped him round the corner, and as he was walking into school I opened the window and shouted 'I love you!' to him. It didn't go down too well but it made him smile a couple of days later."

David Beckham revealed that his youngest son Cruz, nine, was 'the cheeky one'

Speaking about the rest of his brood, the 39-year-old said that his kids are just like any other youngsters of their age.

"Without a doubt, my children from time to time do get 'sore throats' in the mornings, especially when there are certain things happening at school or their dad is going to play some game," said David. "They definitely try to get out of school. My son was playing football yesterday and he hurt his neck and the physio came over to me and she said, 'He's fine but his first question was, 'Do I have to go to school tomorrow?'"

When asked who the culprit was, David laughed, revealing it was his nine-year-old and second-youngest child. "It was Cruz," he said. "He's the cheeky one."

David Beckham said that his children are just like any other, and try to 'get out of school'

David, who also has a three-year-old daughter Harper Seven with his wife Victoria, has just launched his new charity campaign for UNICEF – 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund, named after the footballer's lucky number.

The project will run in seven countries with the aim of helping the most vulnerable babies and children, and David is hoping that his own youngsters will get involved by taking part in charity trips and fundraising events.

"They totally understand that and they all want to get involved," he said. "We all want to protect our children, we all want to protect children in general but you can't hide things from them and you have to discuss when there are things happening around the world."
