Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin ended their ten-year-marriage by "consciously uncoupling" last year and have remained on good terms since – on such good terms that the pair got together for Valentine's Day, spending time as a family with their two children, eight-year-old Moses and Apple, aged ten. The actress, 42, and 37-year-old Coldplay frontman enjoyed each other’s company as they relaxed on the beach, walking arm-in-arm along the sandy shores and sitting down for some fresh air.
The family Maltese dog, Daffodil, was also in tow for the Paltrow-Martin day out in Malibu. Gwyneth was dressed down for the excursion in a casual black tank top, navy jogging bottoms and a paif of flip flops, with her hair scraped back into a low ponytail and a pair of sunglasses shading her eyes from the winter sun. Chris, meanwhile, was comfortable in knee-length blue shorts, a light blue T-shirt and a baseball cap with a smiley face logo. The couple announced they were separating almost a year ago in March 2014 and declared they were "conscious uncoupling". An official statement at the time read: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.
"We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate." Gwyneth has since said that using the phrase "conscious uncoupling" was a mistake. Speaking to radio DJ Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radio show she said, "I didn't give it context. But it is a goofy term". The afternoon on the beach wasn't Gwyneth's first of the year – the stunning blonde has already taken a winter break to Mexico along with the couple's two children, of which she shared a series of snaps with her fans.
