He may have just tied the knot but it was back to business for Benedict Cumberbatch on Monday. The 38-year-old flew into Los Angeles with his wife Sophie Hunter and headed straight into interviews to promote his Oscar-nominated film The Imitation Game.

The newlyweds looked relaxed upon their arrival in casual clothes and dark sunglasses. The couple walked hand in hand out of the airport, and Sophie placed one protective hand across her growing baby bump as they made their way to their car.

Benedict and Sophie wed in a romantic ceremony on the Isle of Wight on Saturday. The duo were originally said to be planning a low-key honeymoon after their nuptials, but it is believed the honeymoon has been put on hold until after Sunday night's Oscars.

After arriving in Los Angeles, Benedict joined his The Imitation Game co-star Keira Knightley for a TimesTalks and Tiff interview about their highly-acclaimed film. The actor showed off his new wedding band and was seen looking at it on stage at at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills.

Benedict also rounded off his busy day with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While the actor stayed relatively tight-lipped about his wedding, he did joke to the host: "I felt bad about you not coming so I thought I'd let you in on the honeymoon."

Jimmy transformed the set into a Hawaiian honeymoon destination and toasted Benedict with Pina Colada cocktails, before presenting him with wedding gifts including a whisk, avocado slicer and other kitchen utensils.

Talk soon turned to the Oscars – Benedict is nominated for the Best Actor award for his performance in The Imitation Game. The actor said it was "the most amazing feeling in the world" to discover he had received an Oscar nomination.

"I don't think it's gonna get any better than that," he added.

2015 is shaping up to be a monumental year for Benedict, both personally and professionally. As well as his awards recognition and recent wedding, Benedict is expecting his first child with his new wife in the summer.

"I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child," confirmed the actor's publicist in January. "They are both over the moon."
