George and Amal Clooney's Valentine's Day date revealed

February 17, 2015

George and Amal Clooney celebrated their first Valentine's Day as a married couple by enjoying a low-key evening out in Los Angeles, California. Amal, who was taking a break from her lawyer commitments, had flown stateside to join her husband for the most romantic date of the year.

The lovebirds headed to one of George's favourite restaurants in Studio City – Japanese hotspot Asanebo, which serves the likes of gourmet sushi and grilled meat and fish.

George and Amal were spotted leaving the restaurant on Saturday evening, looking as loved-up as ever.

While the 53-year-old actor went casual in jeans and a short-sleeved charcoal shirt, his photogenic wife Amal stole the show in a camel fringed cape, skinny black jeans and a white T-shirt. The London-born beauty, who is of Lebanese origin, added a touch of glitz to her outfit with a blue oversized clutch and snakeskin-printed leather boots.

The pair held hands as they left the restaurant and climbed into their car, with George, ever the gentleman, stepping back to let Amal in first.

Earlier this month the couple celebrated Amal's 37th birthday with a casual dinner at home with friends. Following this, George whisked his wife off to Mexico where they were joined by the Hollywood hunk's best friend Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford for a few days of relaxation in the sun.

2015 hasn't just been all play and no work for the power couple. George is preparing to star in sci-fi mystery adventure film Tomorrowland, due for release in May, while Amal has been working on high-profile cases.

The Doughty Street Chambers barrister, who specialises in international law, criminal law, human rights, and extradition, most recently represented Armenia in a Genocide trial, at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.

She has also just joined the legal team of The Hooded Men, a group of men who claimed they were tortured in Northern Ireland in 1971.
