Taylor Swift and Kanye West put past behind them on surprising dinner date

The rapprochement between Kanye West and Taylor Swift continues. After their friendly meeting at the Grammys, at which they hugged and posed for pictures, the two powerhouse entertainers had dinner together in New York's West Village on Tuesday night. The duo were seen at the Spotted Pig restaurant although they arrived and left separately. Their newfound closeness comes after the outspoken rapper caused controversy at the 2009 MTV awards by storming the stage while Taylor was receiving an award. He famously told her that his friend Beyoncé Knowles should have won.

According to Kanye West the duo plan to record a song together

All this is clearly water under the bridge for the songbird as she's even considering collaborating with the Bound 2 musician.

"Yeah, she wants to get in the studio and we're definitely going to go in," Kanye said, speaking on a US chat show. "Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I'm down to get in the studio and work. I don't discriminate, I don't have an elitism of music because of like how many Grammys or you know, the amount of ratings you get on an album."

Kanye West and Taylor Swift chatted happily at this year's Grammys

However, Kim Kardashian's husband clearly hasn't lost his capacity for creating shockwaves. He pretended to storm the stage again during this year's Grammys, when Beck was receiving an award later explaining that "the voices in my head made me do it".

He got half way up to the podium and then made as if to sit down again when Beck surprisingly invited him up to finish what he was saying.

Kanye said: "What I really wanted to do (was) just joke around about what had happened before (with Taylor), but I just really didn't want to take away from Beck's moment or the time he's having to talk.

Taylor Swift was left stunned when Kanye West hijacked her big moment at the 2009 MTV awards

"The Grammys, they play music really quick no matter who you are and everything. So I didn't want anything to take away from his screen time."

Beck afterwards showed that he took the joke in the spirit in which it was intended. "I was just so excited he was coming up," he told reporters following Sunday's ceremony. "You can't please everybody, man. I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does."
