Allison Williams has opened up about the recent controversy surrounding her famous journalist father Brian Williams. The actress, who recently played Peter Pan in a live TV adaptation, said that she still saw her dad as a "really good" and "honest" man despite his career scandal.
Earlier this month it was announced that Brian had been suspended without pay from NBC Nightly News for six months.
The disgraced anchor, who has worked on the programme for ten years, was dismissed for having misrepresented his experience in the Iraq War, and whether he came under fire while reporting.

Speaking candidly in an interview with Seth Meyers, Allison admitted that the past few weeks had been difficult for the Williams family.
While the 26-year-old said that she still counted her blessings and that the family "still have each other," Allison confessed: "It's been tough, though. Obviously, toughest on my dad, who bears the full burden of responsibility for it."
"One thing the experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man," she added. "He's a really good man. He's an honest man. He's a truthful man. He has so much integrity. He cares so much about journalism.
"And yes, he's a really good dad. I know you can trust him because, as any good daughter does, I've tested him on that."
Ricky Van Veen and Allison Williams have been engaged for one year
Allison put on an optimistic front, as she assured Seth that even strangers had reached out, saying they wanted the award-winning journalist to return to screens. "I can't wait until he is back on TV," she said.
The Girls star, who has been engaged to Ricky Van Veen, the co-founder of College Humor, for one year, also revealed that she has had to put her wedding on hold due to work commitments.
"You sort of think, 'What could possibly come along that would make me not think about this?'" Allison said of her future wedding. "And then I get Peter Pan and I think, 'Okay, I will think only about Neverland and then we'll go back to planning our wedding.'
"Then current events started happening, so that derailed it a little bit, but it has been this really beautiful through-line in our lives. It's just something we haven't focused on, but, spoiler alert, we are excited!"
