Hugh Jackman and David Beckham struck up a new friendship this week as they hung out together backstage at a TV show taping on Thursday. The handsome duo posed for a picture, which Wolverine star Hugh then posted on his Instagram feed for his fans to see, with the caption, "With my mate David Beckham at the Graham Norton show taping tonight!!" Hugh, 46, can be seen in the snap with his arm around 39-year-old David, as the duo smile for the camera. They are both dressed smartly in suits ahead of their interviews with chat show host Graham.

Australian actor Hugh is currently in the UK promoting his latest film, Chappie. The sci-fi, which also stars Dev Patel and Sigourney Weaver, tells the story of an experimental robot named Chappie, designed to think and feel, who must fight back against forces planning to take him down. While he has starred in dozens of high-profile films, Hugh's most recognisable role is as Wolverine, from the long-running superhero X-Men film series. And he recently spoke about how the Oscar-nominated film Birdman – which follows the suicidal star of a once-popular superhero franchise – had resonated with him.
Hugh Jackham recently joked that he will 'never stop playing Wolverine'
"I said to my wife, 'The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I've got to find a way to keep playing him until I die,'" he joked to Cigar Aficionado. He added, "I know someday they'll recast the role with another actor… I'd be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic." David, meanwhile, recently returned from New York, where he supported wife Victoria at her NYFW presentation. On Thursday, he was seen supporting middle son Romeo, 12, as he played for Arsenal in an academy game against Liverpool FC, before heading to London for The Graham Norton Show.
