Ed Sheeran has revealed that he almost had a special cameo from a Hollywood star in one of his music videos. Speaking on the BBC Radio One Breakfast Show, the singer said that Benedict Cumberbatch was supposed to appear in the video for his track Sing.
"We had a few conversations about it, some dinner – we ate roast chicken. A conversation was about as far as it got," Ed revealed about the unlikely collaboration.
"The original idea that I had was him breakdancing, and doing all that. You know, like the Christopher Walken video, but doing that in a karaoke bar with a load of Korean dudes."

The 24-year-old continued to say that he wasn't sure the Imitation Game actor would still be up for appearing in one of his videos in the future.
"It never really got past the conversation. I'll find a better idea and approach him with it, but he's Oscar nominated now, I don't know if he's up for dancing around with Koreans in a music video."
Ed is believed to have met the actor when he worked on the song I See Fire for the soundtrack of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, which Benedict starred in.

Both singers are currently in London for the BRIT Awards. Ed is nominated for four awards including Best British Album and is also set to perform on stage at the O2, while Taylor is nominated for International Female Solo Artist.
Meanwhile Benedict is still in Los Angles following Sunday night's Oscars. The 38-year-old, who missed out on the Best Actor gong, is believed to be embarking on a honeymoon with his wife Sophie Hunter following their Valentine's Day nuptials.
