Johnny Vaughan and his wife Antonia Davies have secretly split after 14 years of marriage, new reports have claimed. The radio host and his former love are said to have divorced months ago, but the announcement of their break-up is only just coming to light.

The pair, who have two children together, wed in 1999, but their marriage started to break down in 2013 when they entered a series of rows.

They separated and their divorce was finalised last year.

Explaining the cause of their split, an insider close to the couple said that no third party was involved and that it was just "one of those things".

"Johnny is single again. Both he and Antonia have moved on amicably and they are very happy," a source told The Mirror. "There was no scandal and nobody else is involved in the split. Sadly, it's just one of those things.

The insider added that the 48-year-old star "hasn't raced to move on with anyone new".

Johnny first met his ex-wife Antonia when he was working at a video store as a teenager. The former The Big Breakfast host and the costume designer were in a relationship for six years before they decided to marry.

At their summer nuptials in 1999, Johnny and Antonia had a host of famous guests in attendance, including the star's co-hosts throughout the years Liza Tarbuck, Kelly Brook and Denise Van Outen. Elvis Costello also performed at the wedding.

The couple welcomed their first child Tabitha in 2000, followed by a son Rafferty three years later. In a frank radio interview in 2010, Johnny was overcome with emotion as he revealed that Antonia had suffered a miscarriage.

The star, who has built a reputation as a film critic, went on to present Capital Breakfast after his stint on The Big Breakfast.
