Peter Andre has given an update on his latest wedding plans. The singer proposed to his bride-to-be Emily MacDonagh over a year ago, but the couple have yet to settle on a wedding date.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning on Thursday, Peter gave more of an idea of when he and Emily hope to tie the knot.

"We'll definitely be married by about this time next year," said the Mysterious Girl singer. "Maybe May… around that time I think."

He added: "We could do it earlier, but the latest we're gonna get married is probably May next year, which is nice."

Peter also spoke about his "wonderful" trainee doctor fiancée, who is currently finishing her medical degree at the University of Bristol.

"She works alongside doctors now in the hospitals," said Peter. "She's still classed as being at Uni but it's actually working in the hospitals. Fantastic! I'm so happy for her."

Peter, 42, and Emily, 25, are parents to a gorgeous baby daughter Amelia. The couple welcomed their bundle of joy in January of last year, and a few weeks later, the TV personality popped the question.

Peter, who also has two children Princess, nicknamed Bista, and Junior from his previous marriage, also spoke about raising his kids – and the importance of teaching them manners.

Show host Phillip Schofield commented: "The production team said [Princess] was one of the politest little girls they had ever met, and you said [to her] that you can say anything you like, it doesn't matter, you can embarrass me, it's not a problem… and what did she say?"

"She turned round and said 'but I don't want to embarrass you, you're my dad,'" said Peter. "She's a very, very sensitive girl, and I am strict on their manners – very, very strict – but I think it pays off."

"And you also said that your children have now discovered that you’re not as funny as you think you are…," quipped host Amanda Holden.

"I think they knew from a very early age that I wasn't funny," laughed Peter. "But they were polite so probably thought 'I've got to laugh at dad' but now, they look at each other and roll their eyes!"
