Bob Geldof was on hand to support his daughter Pixie Geldof at a charity event on Thursday. The 63-year-old proudly posed for pictures with Pixie, 24, at the Junior Ocean Council's Fashion for the Future event, which she hosted alongside DJ Nick Grimshaw. Clutching a bouquet of flowers, Pixie wrapped her arm around the Boomtown Rats singer as they stood smiling side-by-side at the London bash. The pretty brunette showed off her new long hair, which had been dyed a dark brown, and wore a long dress featuring a poppy print.

Also supporting Pixie on her big night was Bob's fiancée, French actress Jeanne Marine. The long-term couple made a coordinated appearance together; Jeanne dressed in a high-collared two-piece grey suit, teamed with patent black heels and a stylish up-do, which perfectly complemented Bob's smart outfit. The family outing came as the Geldof clan prepare to mark the one-year anniversary of Peaches Geldof's tragic death. The 25-year-old – a mum to sons Astala, two, and Phaedra, 22 months with her husband Thomas Cohen – died on 7 April 2014 from a drug overdose.

According to reports, her loved ones are determined her anniversary will not be a "sad day". "There are no fixed plans as yet but at some point they will all be together," a source told Grazia magazine. "Whatever they do, they will do as a family and it will not be a sad day, because this is about celebrating life, celebrating what they have together." The source added that while the family had been rocked by the death of the girls' mother Paula Yates in 2000, Peaches' sad passing has brought them closer together.

"The legacy of Paula's death was chaos and disintegration for the Geldof family, but the legacy of Peaches' death has been to bring everyone together. It's poetic justice that finally something good should come out of such terrible circumstances. "It's as if a spell has been broken and so much of that has to do with Peaches' boys, Thomas and the Cohen family. It's as if, through them, Peaches gave them a way to get through it all."
