Bradley Cooper praises Jennifer Lawrence's acting: 'She's the best there is'

March 22, 2015

Bradley Cooper has praised his co-star Jennifer Lawrence for her professionalism and supreme acting skills. The newly single actor, whose split from Suki Waterhouse was announced earlier this week, went as far as to call Jennifer "the best there is".

Attending a screening and an after party of their latest film Serena, Bradley and Jennifer were reunited in New York and looked to be in constant hysterics.

The pair, who have worked together on Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, brought their unbeatable on-screen chemistry to the red carpet.

Jennifer, 24, and Bradley, 40, were pictured joking around, with the Hunger Games actress at one point pretending to stroke the Hollywood heart-throb's cheek.

Jennifer, who is believed to be in an on-off relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, lit up the night in a sparkly, sequined dress that featured cut-out side panels.

She later changed into a black playsuit by minimalist designer Helmut Lang. Her work husband Bradley was equally as good-looking in a charcoal grey suit.

"Honestly, it's just happenstance," said Bradley, when asked why he often lands roles with Jennifer. "We both got cast in Silver Linings, and she was going to this other movie and the role was open and so that worked out."

"I respect her so much as a professional, as an actor, and I think she's the best there is," he added. "I just learn from her. You always want to work with people who are better than you."

"And I feel the same way about him," said Jennifer.

The Kentucky-born actress, who plays the female lead in Serena, is said to have passed the script on to Bradley and recommended him for the male protagonist role – after the pair enjoyed working with each other on 2012's Silver Linings Playbook.

The drama tells the tale of Serena, a barren wife, who sets out to murder the woman who bore her husband's illegitimate son.

The movie was recorded in 2012 but didn't debut at the London Film Festival until 2014. It is currently being released on video on demand in the US.
