Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: art teacher gives rare glimpse inside couple's family life

March 23, 2015

An Indigenous art teacher has given a fascinating insight inside Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s home life. When Bibi Barba was invited to teach an art class for a mysterious "very high-profile" client's children, she never expected the door to be opened by world-famous star Angelina and her six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, ten, Shiloh, eight and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. Speaking to Australia's Woman's Day, Bibi recalled the moment she arrived at James Packer's $40million Sydney mansion where the world-famous family were staying in secret for the premiere of Unbroken last year.

Angelina, dressed in black jeans and a black T-shirt greeted her in the marble foyer, her hands pressed together in a prayer-like position. "Yours in the most ancient culture in the world," she said to Bibi, bowing her head. "I want to learn about your culture." She then added with a warm smile: "My home is your home, Please, just call me Ange." Bibi said that Shiloh excitedly introduced herself, beaming up as she said, "I'm Shi!", while her little sister Vivienne added, "I'm Vi-vi!"

The Queensland-raised artist then spent the day teaching the children all about Aboriginal art. She said that the youngsters were watched carefully by six women – they each have an American minder – who surrounded them in a semi-circle offering support and guidance. At the end of the day, proud mum Angelina came to look over her children's Aboriginal art. "You can see she's taught them we’re all human, and we might come from different parts of the world, but we've got to show each other love and respect," Bibi added.
