It all got started at 11am when birthday girl Eva Longoria welcomed her guests to Morgan's Wonderland in Texas – the only amusement park in the world specifically geared to the needs of disabled children and adults – to celebrate her big 4-0. "As you know, my sister Liza has special needs," explained the former Desperate Housewife, whose foundation, Eva's Heroes, was at the heart of the festivities. "So this place means a lot to me and is why I wanted to celebrate my birthday here."

Joined by her partner, Mexican businessman Pepe Bastón, Eva also invited some 300 guests –including fellow Desperate Housewives Marcia Cross and Dana Delaney, Melanie Griffith and Eva's handsome co-star in her new TV comedy series Telenovela, Amaury Nolasco – to a star-studded evening gala featuring a purple blossom-bedecked cake (the hue is Liza's favourite) and decor featuring photographs snapped over the course of Eva's life. In one of the most emotional moments of the night, Pepe and his daughter Mariana took the stage to wish her happy birthday. Looking sexier, and happier, than ever, Eva danced the night away to Latin beats, as she celebrated what she calls "the best time of my life". "I'm sure of what I want, where I want to be and who I want to be with," she tells HELLO!. "So I say, welcome, 40's!"
