Louis Tomlinson and his ex-girlfriend Eleanor Calder were apparently close to splitting for a while, and it has now emerged that even a flight out to Australia to visit the One Direction band member couldn't save their relationship.
Eleanor, 22, is said to have jetted out to Sydney to visit her boyfriend Louis while he was on tour with his fellow bandmates Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik.
The pretty brunette flew the 20,000 miles to reportedly work through the couple's "differences" – in a bid to save their four-year relationship.

"Cracks were showing for a while. It's incredibly tough with the boys being on the road so much," a source told the Daily Mirror. "They had a month off over Christmas but since then they have been in Australia and the Far East."
"It put a real strain on the relationship," the insider added. "But even after Eleanor flew out to visit Louis, they couldn't work through their differences.
"Weeks later, when they were on opposite sides of the world again, they called it a day."

Reports first emerged over the weekend claiming that Louis, 23, and Eleanor had in fact split a fortnight ago, but chose to keep the news of their personal life out of the spotlight.
Another source confirmed the break-up to People, revealing that Louis was "really upset about it all" and that the couple tried to make it work, but it was just "impossible". They added: "He's away for nine months a year and they just grew apart."
While Louis, whose Instagram profile photo is still a photo of himself with Eleanor, has been on the road touring, his ex-girlfriend has been studying at the University of Manchester.

Their split may have happened a couple of weeks ago but it still would have come as a shock to Eleanor when photos and reports surfaced a few days ago, claiming to show Louis kissing another girl at a pool party in Thailand.
Fellow singer Zayn, who is engaged to Perrie Edwards, was also said to be at the party and pictured holding hands with a blonde girl. Zayn has since returned to the UK to be with his fiancée, who he declared he loved on Twitter.
