Over five years after the pair fell out, Olly Murs has spoken out about his estranged twin brother Ben. During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Olly opened up about his strained relationship with Ben and said that he hopes in time they will reconcile. "It was ages ago," 30-year-old Olly told chat show host Jonathan. "It was in 2009, it was while I was on The X Factor, it was just a family thing. Unfortunately I couldn't make his wedding so we had a bit of a falling out.
Olly and his parents no longer speak to Ben
"It’s still the same, it is sad because he is part of the family, he's my brother, he's my twin," he added. "[It's sad] more so for my mum and dad, technically they've lost a son in a way because he’s fallen out with the whole family… It was something between me and my brother but I'm more upset for my parents."While Olly says he would "100%" like to reconcile with his brother and says that the pair have had some contact over the past few years, he admits it was "more in the papers more than we've spoken actually in real life!"
The X Factor star was unable to attend Ben's wedding
Essex-born Olly added that despite the rift, he still holds out hope that the pair will repair their relationship in the future."He's my brother no matter what happens you always have a love for family. I'm hoping we'll sort it out at some point. "During the interview Olly also set the record straight on his love life – saying that he's not engaged to his long-term girlfriend Francesca Thomas.

"I'm not getting married, stop marrying me off," he laughed when Jonathan asked whether he would invite Ben to his own wedding. "It’s going great," he added of his relationship. "It’s good, really good. She's not looking forward to me going on tour because we're obviously on tour now for the next couple of months. She’ll come to a few of the shows yeah, but it’s all about the fans!"
