Elton John rings in his 68th year with sons Zachary and Elijah

Music superstar Elton John turned 68 with his family by his side on Wednesday. The I'm Still Standing singer, who celebrated his birthday on 25 March, shared a sweet photo of his sons Zachary and Elijah giving him a personalised cake."Life is beautiful," Elton captioned the photo, which showed the two youngesters and a chocolate cake bearing the message 'Happy Birthday Daddy'. "#ShareTheLove #BestBirthdayEver #Blessed."Pinner-born Elton, who is currently on tour in Las Vegas, was clearly thrilled to have his husband David Furnish and their boys four-year-old Zachary and two-year-old Elijah with him on his birthday.

The singer celebrated his 68th birthday in Las Vegas

"Thanks for everyone's birthday wishes yesterday," tweeted Elton on Thursday, adding a video of his band singing happy birthday.Victoria Beckham also wished Elton well on his special day, writing: "Happy Birthday Elton, we love u x" on Twitter, along with a video of him performing his platinum hit Tiny Dancer.Elton and Victoria have long been close friends and the former Spice Girl and her husband David Beckham asked Elton to be godfather to their sons Brooklyn and Romeo.The fashion designer recently showed her support for her friend in the wake of his disagreement with Dolce & Gabbana – who recently claimed they think IVF babies are "synthetic".

Elton reacted by calling for people to boycott the Italian fashion house and Victoria posted a heartfelt tweet just hours after Elton's public decry, writing: "Sending love to Elton David Zachary Elijah & all the beautiful IVF babies x vb."Your Song singer Elton had angrily criticised Dolce & Gabbana for their views on same-sex families and the use of fertility treatment in a post shared on Sunday on his Instagram account."How dare you refer to my beautiful children as 'synthetic'," he wrote. "And shame on you for wagging your judgemental little fingers at IVF – a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both gay and straight, to fulfil their dreams of having children."Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just likes your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana."
