Kim Kardashian has previously said that visiting Armenia was on her bucket list, but one engagement that will have ranked high in her priorities was a visit to her late father Rob Kardashian's ancestral home. The reality TV star travelled to the city of Gyumri, north of the capital, where records state that past relatives of the Kardashian family lived.
Accompanied by her sister Khloé Kardashian, her rapper husband Kanye West and the couple's baby daughter North, Kim and the group were left to explore the dilapidated remains of the house.

Kim, 34, looked visibly moved by the sight of the run-down structure, with its rusty metal walls, roofless top and piles of debris surrounding the property. The famous family were joined by their cousins Kara and Kourtni, who are also visiting the Eurasian country to learn more about their heritage.
Kim has made no secret of her desire to explore her roots, given that her late lawyer dad Robert, who passed away in 2003, was a third-generation Armenian American.

The TV personality, whose trip is being documented on the family's hit show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, has previously blogged about her support for the country – and in particular, the need to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide.
She has timed the visit to coincide with the lead-up to the event's 100th anniversary, which falls on 24 April.

"My family and I are incredibly proud of our heritage," Kim has written before. "My dad taught me a lot about Armenian culture, and I have a strong connection with my roots. Every year, I honour the memory of the martyrs who were killed during the 1915 Armenian Genocide."
Kim was able to, first-hand, pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the massacre. She and younger sister Khloé laid flowers at the genocide memorial and posting a photo on Instagram, Kim called the day an "emotional" one.

The siblings, alongside their cousins, also had the opportunity to meet the country's prime minister and again Kim shared photos of their meeting.
She captioned one snap: "It was an honour to meet the Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan who expressed how proud they are that we are proud Armenians and we have not forgotten our roots! #NeverForget."
