Coldplay frontman Chris Martin only 'consciously uncoupled' from Gwyneth Paltrow for good on Monday, but new reports suggest that Gillian Anderson, star of BBC drama The Fall has fallen for the 38-year-old singer. A source told The Sun newspaper that the pair, who have an eight-year age gap, have "definite chemistry".
Gillian Anderson and Chris Martin's friendship is reportedly 'blossoming'
Speaking to the paper, the source said: "They're an unlikely combination but there's definitely chemistry between them."
Chris and Gwyneth were married for ten years, but announced their split in March 2014. The pair always kept their personal lives private, and since the split, they have continued to keep the details out of the spotlight.
In recent months Chris has been linked to Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, 24 - the pair were seen at New Jersey's Teterboro airport on Easter Sunday, discreetly hopping on a private plane - but despite this, the source added that 'the blossoming romance is very low-key".

"His pals are intrigued to see if it turns into a bigger deal," the source continued.
Gillian made a return to TV in 2013 with the hit serial killer drama The Fall, and it was confirmed earlier in March that she would be reprising the role which made her famous in the 1990s, that of Agent Dana Scully.
Gillian and David Duchovny in The X Files
Reteaming with David Duchovny as Agent Fox Mulder, the pair will reunite for a six-part limited series of The X Files, which at the time was one of the highest rated shows on TV, and won five Golden Globes and 16 Emmy awards.
"I think of it as a 13-year commercial break," said Chris Carter, the award-winning creator of the supernatural show.
"The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories."
