A relaxed Andy Murray said he did not think playing as a married man would make any difference to his tennis, but admitted that it was taking time to get used to referring to Kim Sears as "my wife". Speaking for the first time since marrying Kim Sears in Dunblane's Cathedral, the newlywed explained: "I've made that mistake a few times. I’ve referred to her quite a few times as 'my girlfriend'. But I'm sure I'll get used to that in a few weeks."

Wearing his shiny wedding band in Munich, where Andy is for this week's BMW Open, the tennis champion also revealed that he doesn't know what to do with his new ring during matches. "I might wear it on a necklace, but the necklace I got broke the first day I got it," he said, smiling. "I was on a physio bed and it got caught, just snapped off. I can't play with it [on his finger], because it gives me blisters. "The 27-year-old also addressed some other good news – that his coach Amélie Mauresmo is expecting a baby.

Andy revealed how Amélie broke her happy news to him in February, telling him that she had "something personal" to tell him the next day. "We were actually going to chat about the next couple of weeks, but then I thought: 'Something personal to tell you'? I thought: 'Maybe she's pregnant.'He continued: "She wasn't coming out for dinner in Australia and she normally goes to the gym all the time, but she didn't train once through Australia.

"When she told me [she was pregnant] it was a little bit of a surprise. But because she'd pre-warned me that she had something personal to tell me, I kind of expected it a little bit. "To help coach Andy in Amélie's absence is Jonas Bjorkman, who has recently been freed-up from his duties on the Swedish version of Strictly.
